Also for bacterial encephalomyelitis in children. When bacterial infection is suspected, bacterial culture and drug sensitivity test should be carried out. However, since Cefepime is a broad spectrum bactericide for gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, single-drug treatment can be started with Cefepime before the drug sensitivity test results are known. When mixed infection with anaerobic bacteria is suspected, it is recommended to be combined with other anti-anaerobic drugs, such as metronidazole, for initial treatment. Once the results of bacterial culture and drug sensitivity test are known, the treatment plan should be adjusted in time.
